Pufferfish, also known as blowfish, are marine creatures known for their ability to inflate their bodies into a ball-like shape when threatened. This defense mechanism is used to deter predators, as many species of pufferfish are also highly toxic due to the presence of tetrodotoxin in their tissues. Despite their poisonous nature, they are considered a delicacy in some cultures, particularly in Japan.
